data secruity for Report Builder Models

Does anyone know how to implement data secruity based on user id (forms
authenication) for the report builder models.
Basically, I have created an report model. And i want certain people to have
access to certain data. The users are organized by the office where they
work. Is there a way to do, this without creating an different model for each
group of users?read this:

message
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\config' is denied. (Microsoft Visual Studio)

know how to get this into the expression. Anything you can do would help
SELECT *
FROM tblBureauCode INNER JOIN
tblPerson ON tblBureauCode.Bureau_CodeID =tblPerson.Bureau_CodeID INNER JOIN
tblDataAccess ON tblBureauCode.Bureau_Code =tblDataAccess.Bureaus
WHERE (tblDataAccess.Login = user!userid)

Data quality tools

Guys,

I'm trying to implement some of the data quality techniques. I use staging tables in my ETL process.

What I'd like to do is:

- check for required fields - make sure all required fields have values in all records

- check for duplicates

- check for data formats (line phone#, zip code etc)

Obviously all of this can be in SQL.

My question is what would be the best approach in SSIS to do it?

Dima.

The Derived Column component has an ISNULL() function.

Aggregate transform will give you all records that contains duplicates. COUNT over all the columns in which you want to check for duplicates.

Regular expressions would be a good fit here: http://blogs.conchango.com/jamiethomson/archive/2005/07/04/1754.aspx

Data Mining

Are the Data Mining capabilities in Excel only available with Excel 2007?

How does one implement the data mining in Excel 2007?

The recently published Data Mining add-ins for Office only work with Office 2007.

> How does one implement the data mining in Excel 2007?
I am not sure I understand the question. Are you interested in implementing your own add-ins for Excel? Or in using the existing add-ins?

The SQL Server Data Mining Add-Ins for Office 2007 work only with Office 2007 - notably Excel 2007 and Visio 2007.

To implement an Excel 2007 Data Mining solution, you first need Excel 2007 and SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services. Analysis Services is included with SQL Server 2005 Standard and Enterprise Editions and is an installation option. Finally you need the add-ins package itself, which is available as a free download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/technologies/dm/addins.mspx

If you currently do not have licenses for Office 2007 and/or SQL Server 2005, this link (http://www.sqlserverdatamining.com/DMCommunity/TipsNTricks/4429.aspx) provides a guide on how to try out the data mining addins using evaluation editions of Office 2007 and SQL Server 2005.
